Factory replacement/ upgrade : PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Pair)

I just installed these speakers in my truck. My truck is a 1987 ford f 350 lariat XLT. The doors on here are similar to the Bronco and other pickups of that generation. I started by removing the stock speakers and the corresponding hardware. I did not use the trucks wiring for the speakers or the ones provided because they are too small. I used 18 gauge (home theater wiring) and ran it to my power amp. It is an oldie but goodie. Its a Crutchfield CR-2x50 witch is about 100 RMS a channel.
It was a good fit, the basket was bigger than the stock so, I lined it up and used the original self tapping screws to make new holes and mount the speaker.
For sound I love them. They provide ALLOT of highs and mids and the bass is really good. I would recommend an EQ and using a larger but not obnoxious wire. I am waiting on a subwoofer to finish off the system.
All in all these speakers are great for someone om a budget. They also shipped fast too.

wonderfully simple toy : Sirius SP-TK2 Sportster Replay Satellite Radio with Car Kit

We are already hooked on SIRIUS, as we had a unit installed in my wife's car in mid 2004.

I bought this unit for me for the following reasons:

1. no hard wiring necessary - just plug into lighter

2. you do not need to permanently mount the docking base onto your dash or console - just stick to windshield with provided suction cup gadget

3. no need to mount the antenna on the roof, which eliminates dealing with fishing wires around the headliner, etc. - the antenna works fairly well just laying on the dash

4. all the above give me the opportunity to move the unit between the 2 vehicles I drive, without having to invest in any extra docking stations

5. when you already have a SIRIUS account, the subscription cost for additional units, is discounted to only $7 per month

6. there is currently a $50 rebate, bringing the net cost down to only $99

I was so pleased with my radio, I bought another one for our 20 year old son. He is in the USMC and often travels from NC to PA. He also loves this new toy.

only downsides:

1. antenna may slide around on dash when making sharp turns (our son cured this with velcro)

2. being on top of dash & attached to windshield, may bother some folks

3. loses reception more often than our original (which has a permanently mounted antenna on the roof). In my opinion, the flexibility and lack of installation costs makes up for this.

Stands the test of time : Silblade FB119 Flex Black Silicone Ultimate Wiper Blade - 19"

I have been using SilBlades on all my vehicles for the past 3 years. The performance of the wiper blades are excellent and have not let me down. I have read some of the recent reviews that indicated they did not fit well and fell off. I had difficulty at first until I learned the trick to install them. Once they are properly installed, they will not fall off.

The trick to install these on a J-arm is to first realize what actually holds these blades onto the wiper Arm. These wiper blades are held onto the Arm by the two ears that must extend past the crook in the J-arm. This is almost impossible to do unless the wiper is rotated to allow the two ears to be beyond the plastic mount. What this means is that the two ears are in free air allowing the ears to move outward while pushing the blade onto the J-arm. Once the blade is pushed all the way on, the plastic mount prevents the ears from moving locking the blade onto the arm. I hope I explained this well enough as I would hate to see anyone else return the product as it is well worth the money.

MEHSA³
MEHSA³ (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application - gen. 3) is a proprietary process that yields up to five times better heat transfer than traditional FET mounting techniques, using the exact same components. A multi-layer insulated metal substrate operating with minimal thermal resistance spreads heat both downward & outward to quickly dissipate heat from each device across the heatsink. NOMAD
NOMAD is a "real time" analog computer that protects your amplifier from shorting speaker wires and dangerously low speaker impedances.

Punch EQ2
In the early 70's, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles. Utilizing a real-time analyzer and pink noise, he would graph out the acoustical characteristics of each car he tested. Jim discovered three problems that were common to all cars:

• A midbass hump between 100-275Hz
• A steep roll-off of high frequencies from 2kHz up to 20kHz
• Reduced bass response below 50Hz

The Punch EQ on-board equalization circuit helps correct for these acoustical deficiencies in the listening environment. When set to Low-Pass(LP) operation, it becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.

TO-247 MOSFETs
Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps.

Strong little amp!!!!!!! : Rockford Fosgate Punch 200-Watt Stereo Amplifier

I bought this amp in January when Amazon had it on sale for $72 and I'm completely satisfied with it. I'm running this amp bridged to one 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 in a Scosche ported box and it sounds great! The amp is rated at 50 x 2 watts at 4 ohms; 100 x 2 watts at 2 ohms; 200 x 1 watts bridged at 4 ohms. My amp came with a birth certificate that blew those numbers away......83 x 2 watts at 4 ohms; 137 x 2 watts at 2 ohms; 274 x 1 watts bridged at 4 ohms!!!!!!!!! This amp is perfect for a set of component speakers or a single subwoofer. A friend of mine is actually running two 8-ohm 10" Kicker Comp subwoofers on this amp and it sounds GREAT!
